Education = Liberation, Empowerment, and Serenity
The purpose of this website is to present the idea of a reform in the aims of Education in this country. "Learn to earn" should be "Learn to Fight against Oppression." Through a comprehensive education that consists of a frank history of the United States; critical science education that explores the importance in this field of study; the exploration of creating and recreating critical artwork; the usage of song to explore hidden realities of our world; the application of math for the use of creating solutions for our fractured America; the scriptures and writings of creative authors fighting for a better tomorrow; and finally, the reteaching of lost languages that empower self love and community.

- What have you accomplished?
I have not accomplished what I had initially intended to finish. Due to AP testing, I studied rather than working on my action, but in that study I found some resources that can be used in my action. I had talked with a chair person from Gender Just and obtained some ideas about what I can include in my mini workshop. I made some progress as to what the content of my lesson will have. I also found a couple of videos online that helped portray my meaning more concretely enough. Although, my AP classes interfered, I can now be more focused on my issue since I do not have testing anymore. The person I talked to from Gender Just also connected me to other websites that will help me find more information and pamphlets to give out.
- Challenges?
Some of the challenges I faced were finding time to put my action into action. I was stuck between both studying for AP Government and AP Statistics or doing the Fire Project. Honestly, I have worked too hard in AP Government and Statistics to not do good on the AP test; I was not going to allow a project to get in my way of accomplishing what I had signed up as a Junior. I am a very goal driven person and I set my standards high for my own endeavors. My challenges for completing the Fire Project assignment were fighting against what I prioritized. But even if I did not accomplish what I set out to do this week, I found vital information that will make next week run smoothly.
- Reflection
- Next Steps
My next steps for the following week are to finish what I plan to do for my workshop on Intro to Homophobia (a tactic to Stop Bullying) to find some organizations to help me create interactive games to share information with my peers on bullying and the different forms of bullying that occurs even within a Social Justice High School. Also, I plan to inform others through self created pamphlets about the different types of Bullying that may occur.

Action through Student Voice:
1. Description of Topic:
a. My goal for conducting this project is to see if there is an association between shapes and feelings. Through my project, I plan to demonstrate stereotyping and prejudice. I plan to provide three shapes to my subjects: a square, triangle, and circle. Through these three shapes, I will try to get my subjects to match the shapes up with characteristics such as cuteness, betrayal, and quietness. I will test whether there is a bias towards something (in this case, the shapes) with the use of color. The first question will have all three shapes in a grey shade. The following question will have the colors pink to resemble cute, red to represent betrayal, and grey to represent quietness. I will color the shapes that do not resemble the shape (i.e. pink square, red circle, and grey triangle).
Q1: Circle the feeling that best matches the colorless shapes below:
Circle: Cute Betrayal Quiet
Square: Cute Betrayal Quiet
Triangle: Cute Betrayal Quiet
Q2: Circle the feeling that best matches the colored shapes below:
Circle: Cute Betrayal Quiet
Square: Cute Betrayal Quiet
Triangle: Cute Betrayal Quiet
b. I believe that there will be a clear association with the shapes (triangle, square, and triangle) and the characteristics (cuteness, quietness, and betrayal). I think most people associate circles with cute things, triangles to swords, and squares to oddities. I think switching the colors so that the colors no longer match the shapes (or the stereotyped emotion) will give me a chance to test whether or not there is a bias in how people associate things (or people) with certain traits and characteristics.
2. Description of Statistics:
a. My main variables that will be tested in this study will be the difference in color and association amongst the shapes. I will break the study down further to test every shape individually. My data will collect quantitative data to conclude my statements. The results will then help me conclude whether or not males or females attending Social Justice High School are prejudice and stereotype more than one another are.
3. Description of Data Collection Process:
Subjects:
50 Males &
50 Females
50 Males
Calculate Results for Q1:
Compare Results For Males:
Conclusion By Comparing Results from both Genders
Calculate Results for Q3:
50 Females
Calculate Results for Q1:
Compare Results For Females:
Calculate Results for Q3:
ii. The number of subjects (students attending Social Justice High School) I will use are 100: 50 males and 50 females.
iii. I will choose my 100 subjects by using a random number generator and giving males a number and women another set of numbers. This will reduce bias in my data.
iv. The type of data I will collect for analysis will be quantitative data so that I can compare the results for each shape individually to make statements based on proportions.
Conclusion:
is that based on the results gathered, there is an association between shapes and characteristics proving quantitatively that prejudice or discrimination based on size and color exists in the world.

- The diagram below depicts how I will collect my data. For all three shapes (the triangle, circle, and square), I will compare each for cuteness, betrayal, and quietness. I will compare the results between the colored shapes v. the colorless shapes.
- My study meets all of the conditions for my test to be conducted (randomness, independence, and normality).
